The rules for everything people contribute to Lit Apparel: sightings, shared posts, reviews, the Wall of Passion and Lit Crew. The short version: log the piece, never the person, and treat everyone with respect.
Effective October 31, 2026Last updated October 28, 20262 min read
The Sighting System is for marking a Lit Apparel piece seen out in the world. You log a garment. You never log, follow, rank or identify the person wearing it.
Never photograph or record anyone without asking first. Not from across the room, not from behind, not “just the jacket”.
You never have to approach a stranger. A close detail of the cloth, the setting with nobody recognisable in it, or an event check-in all count.
A face is never needed and never helps. A sighting showing a recognisable person is rejected unless they agreed to appear.
Asking the wearer is the best proof, and only with their agreement.
No exact places, times, venues or descriptions of the person in notes. A broad city is the most we ever keep.
This is not a hunt. Do not follow, search for or approach people to find their clothes, and never use a sighting to find out about someone.
Every sighting is reviewed by a person before it counts. The public only ever sees counts, never who, where or when.
02
What you post
Reviews, shared posts, Wall of Passion entries, sighting photos and notes, forum posts and chat messages must be:
Yours to share: your own words and photos, or ones you have permission to use.
Honest: reviews describe your own experience of a piece you have. No fake reviews, reviews for payment you do not disclose, or reviews of a competitor.
Respectful: no harassment, threats, hate, slurs, or comments about other people’s bodies.
Safe and legal: nothing sexual, violent or illegal, and nothing that puts anyone at risk.
Private: no one else’s personal details, such as names, addresses, phone numbers, workplaces or schedules.
Not spam: no selling, advertising, links to unrelated sites, or repeated posts.
03
In Lit Crew
Lit Crew members also agree to the Crew code of conduct shown in the forum. In short: respect everyone in the room, keep the forum on training, food, recovery and the clothes, and remember that answers there are general guidance, not medical advice. Do not give other members medical advice, or push supplements, extreme diets or performance-enhancing drugs.
04
Points and fair play
Field Points reward real sightings. Logging the same garment again, inventing sightings, using other people’s photos, or coordinating to game the count earns nothing, and may cost you the points you have and your access to the community features.
05
How we moderate
A person at Lit Apparel reviews sightings, reviews, shared posts and Wall of Passion entries before they appear. We may decline, edit for length, or remove anything that breaks these rules, and suspend or close accounts for serious or repeated breaches.
You can ask us to take down anything you shared, at any time, through our contact page.
06
Reporting a problem
If you see something that breaks these rules, or a sighting or photo of you that you did not agree to, tell us through our contact page and we will act on it promptly.
