Mental health apparel is more than a slogan when it starts a conversation someone needed. Here is why LIT makes the Fight Depression, Beat Anxiety and Find Peace tees, what training has to do with it, and where to go if today is a hard day.

The short answer: we make the Fight Depression and Beat Anxiety tees because saying it plainly helps. A shirt cannot treat anything, but it can tell the person next to you at the squat rack that they are not the only one, and sometimes that is the opening a real conversation needs. If you are struggling right now, skip to the end of this article for where to get help today.
Said plainly, because some things should be
The Fight Depression Tee says it in big cream collegiate letters across the chest: FIGHT, with DEPRESSION spaced out underneath. The Beat Anxiety Tee does the same. No euphemisms, no tiny print you have to lean in to read. Under the back collar, small, both carry the line the whole brand is built on: Live Intentionally Today.
We chose loud on purpose. Depression and anxiety are some of the most common things people live with, and some of the least talked about. Words on a chest are hard to ignore, and they give people permission to ask, "What does that mean to you?"
What does training have to do with mental health?
LIT started in the gym, and most of the people who wear our clothes train. That is not a coincidence. The CDC lists reduced risk of depression and anxiety, and better sleep, among the benefits of regular physical activity. Plenty of us have felt it directly: the session you did not want to start is often the one that clears your head for the rest of the day.
That is the idea behind the boxing gloves in our photos. Fight is a verb. Some days the fight is a heavy session; some days it is getting out of bed and going for a walk. Both count.
Exercise is not a cure and nobody should be told to just go for a run. It is one tool, alongside talking, sleep, support and professional care.
The range: four messages, one motto
- Fight Depression Tee: heavyweight garment-dyed cotton, boxy cut, in washed black and in black with blue.
- Beat Anxiety Tee: the same heavyweight boxy cut, in stone grey and in washed mocha with maroon.
- Find Peace Tee: "Find peace in the pain." A 150 gsm cotton tee in olive, cream and rust.
- In The Pink Tee: "in the pink" means in good health. Hot pink on washed black.
The boxy tees are cut wide with a dropped shoulder and short wide sleeves. Take your usual size for the intended fit, or size down for a closer one.
How to be the person someone can talk to
If someone asks about your shirt, or you notice a friend going quiet, you do not need the perfect words. A few things that help:
- Ask directly and kindly. "How are you, really?" is better than a hint.
- Listen more than you fix. Most people want to be heard before they want advice.
- Keep showing up. A text the next day matters more than a perfect first conversation.
- Know where help is. If someone mentions hurting themselves, take it seriously and help them reach a crisis line or emergency services.
Wearing the message without the pressure
You do not need to be an advocate, have a story to share, or be fully OK to wear one of these tees. Some people wear them as a reminder to themselves. Some wear them for someone they lost. Some just like the design. All of those are reasons enough.
If today is a hard day
In the United States you can call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, any time, free and confidential. You can also chat at 988lifeline.org. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. Outside the US, contact your local emergency number or a local crisis line.
LIT is a clothing brand, not a health service, and nothing here is medical advice. But we mean the words on the shirts. Live intentionally today, and if today is hard, reach out.

Common questions
Still wondering? Answered from the piece itself.
Do mental health T-shirts actually help?
A shirt cannot treat depression or anxiety. What it can do is make the subject easier to raise. People often ask about the message, and that can start a conversation someone needed. Treatment and support come from people and professionals.
Is exercise good for depression and anxiety?
Regular physical activity is linked to a lower risk of depression and anxiety and to better sleep, according to the CDC. It works best as one part of looking after your mental health, alongside support and professional care where needed, not as a replacement for them.
What does Live Intentionally Today mean on the back of the tee?
It is LIT Apparel's motto, and where the name LIT comes from. It means choosing how you spend today on purpose, including the days when that choice is simply to keep going.
How do the Fight Depression and Beat Anxiety tees fit?
Boxy and wide, with a dropped shoulder and short wide sleeves. Take your usual size for the intended relaxed fit, or size down one for a closer fit.
Where can I get help if I am struggling right now?
In the US, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or chat at 988lifeline.org. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. Outside the US, contact your local emergency number or crisis line.
